Peace is the aim of us all, the message of all religions, and the common greeting between us. Yet Peace seems so evasive because there are numerous conflicts all the time among members of the human family. We fight over our different beliefs about GOD, and over differences in our religions, races, cultures, languages, political convictions and many other reasons (and sometimes for no apparent reason), when actually GOD created us in such a variety so that we can celebrate the diversity, and live prosperously in peace and harmony. Life on this earth is meant to be so beautiful and enjoyable, if only we learn to love and respect one another, despite our differences. In order that the Peace we desire can become a reality, more of those who understand our duty as human beings, as members of this one human family, must come together and work in every possible way to promote Peace in our lives, our families, our communities and our nations. Only then can Peace prevail on Earth. This Global Peace Day (11.11.2011) gathering is one such endeavour to bring together Peace-lovers to reflect or pray for Peace in silence for 1 minute at the auspicious time (11:11am) on this auspicious day (11.11.2011). Our silence and prayer together will create a Peace-consciousness that will vibrate throughout our gathering, our community, our nation and onto the world. Imagine this Peace-consciousness being amplified many times by similar Peace-vibrations coming from other groups doing similar gatherings throughout the country, and throughout the world. There are many others who will also be doing the silent reflection or prayer in their homes and in their offices, or wherever they are. For this 1 minute the world will be enveloped by Peace thoughts, Peace prayers and Peace vibrations. This Peace-consciousness will definitely influence humanity to become more Peace-loving, and more Peaceful in all its actions, so that Peace may prevail in Malaysia, and in the whole world.
